Lavender Fields Prineville Oregon

In the foothills of the Ochoco Mountains, SunLife Farm gave new use to part of its 55 acres of irrigated farm land by planting abundant varieties of lush lavender plants. During the growing season, expect to see multiple opportunities to visit the farm for the experience of Central Oregon’s diverse growing culture. Or live virtually through it by becoming one of our Purple Farmer CSA members.

Our Ochoco Lavender Fields

When we purchased the property and named it SunLife Farm and Ranch, we envisioned our primary crop to be lavender. It was our goal from the time we started looking.
We identified an area right in the center of the 55 irrigated farm acres to plant our lavender dream. In our first summer, we planted 5200 varietal lavender plants.
We are prepping for an additional 1500 plants to be planted in the summer of 2021.

BootahFest 2022

In farming hay, “Boot Stage” is known as a level that determines it’s time for first cutting. For us, we gauge the same for our lavender plants, plus we just simply LOVE boots!

BOOTAHFEST, is our celebration for fall harvest of Ochoco Lavender. A two weekend agri-tourism event, we anticipate a positive experience for all who attend. It’ll be filled with lots of music, food, crafts, boots, hiking and of course, lavender and honey.

Our Products

In our second year of plant growth for 2021 we will see some good flowering yields which will easily convert to production opportunity. Adopted plants with our Purple Farmer iFarmLife program should bring AMAZING bouquets. We will have some U-Pick events, in addition to oils, hydrosol, lotions, dried arrangements and buds.

We also fill products for our Texas market place, where our lavender is a key ingredient in one of their more popular bug deterrents.

Our convenient online store will continue to have incredible products added as we grow.
